The PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has reacted to the tragedy that struck on Saturday which marred governorship campaign flag-off in the Central Senatorial zone of Plateau state.

The truck conveying party supporters from Pankshin after the rally had an accident close to Panyam bridge with several persons feared dead.

Alahji Atiku said he’s benumbed by the ugly incident which occurred in Pankshin local government area of Plateau State.

He said, “I am benumbed by the tragedy in which scores of lives were lost and injured in a road accident at the end of the Plateau Central PDP Campaign flag-off yesterday in Pankshin LGA.

My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims. On behalf of my family and team, I express my deepest condolences to the affected families and the PDP in Plateau State. May they be comforted, and may the souls of the deceased rest in peace”.

Recall that some members of the PDP in Plateau State last Tuesday narrowly escaped death on their way to the flag off campaign of the People’s Democratic Party PDP Candidate in the forthcoming 2023 Governorship election, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang when the bus in which they were travelling got involved in a ghastly accident.

The injured persons, were hospitalised in various hospitals in the state.
