The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Farouk Yahya has reiterated his stand that there is no hiding place for miscreants, bandits, and other criminal elements terrorising Kaduna communities.
He made this known to the public while speaking during a courtesy visit to the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El Rufai on Wednesday.
Yahaya who was in the company of other senior military officers affirmed that all criminals and bandits will be flushed out of the Kaduna communities very soon.
He revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari had given a go-ahead to the military to “clear all criminals terrorising the state and its environs and ensure that residents of the state, including farmers, move freely and attend to their farms, business centres without any security threat.”
He added that: “We are coming after Kaduna bandits together with the Air Force, Navy, and other security agencies to make sure that they are flushed out of the country.”
The COAS vowed that the welfare of Army personnel in Kaduna will be given priority in terms of their needs and intelligence support to fight the ravaging insecurity in Kaduna. He noted that the welfare of Army Personnel was important to boost the morale of the force to fight the criminal elements in Kaduna and its environs.
Receiving the Army boss and his entourage on behalf of Kaduna State Governor, Kaduna State Acting Governor, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe relayed the Governor’s message and thanked the Nigerian Army for the ongoing efforts to tackle banditry and other criminal activities in the state.
