The National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has decried the killing of innocent Nigerians in any part of the country deeming it unacceptable which must be urgently checked and stopped through collaborative actions.
NAWOJ made this antipathy towards gruesome killing known in a statement signed by its national president, Ladi Bala on Wednesday expressing concerns over the increasing spate of insecurity and constant threat to lives of Nigerians across the country particularly the North-east region.
The interest group believes that this dastardly act has inducted many women into an untimely widowhood life which will surely tell in the lives of children and the overall society.
NAWOJ also commiserated with the Government and the good people of Borno State over Sunday’s inhuman, and unfortunate incident appealing to Governor Babagana Zulum to give widows of the deceased appointment as an alternative source of income to alleviate their sufferings.
The Association also thinks at par with President Muhammadu Buhari regarding his directive to the military to take the battle to the enclave of the terrorists.
Additionally, NAWOJ appealed to the military and other security agencies to as a matter of National interest and concerns, step up their fight against terrorists and bandits in the country.
