Kyari aside, Tunji Disu to head IRT, IGP says

Following the suspension of Abba Kyari from the Nigerian Police Force, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba,  has approved the appointment of DPC,  Tunji Disu, as the new Head of the Police Intelligence Response Team. IRT.

According to the IGP, Disu is to take over from Kyari to head the operations of the Police Intelligence Response Unit.

This appointment was made known to the public in a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Office, CP Frank Mba. Mba noted that the decision was taken on the heels of Management’s decision to fill the leadership gap within the IRT and refocus the Unit for better service delivery.

The statement reads “The IGP has charged the new Head of the IRT to demonstrate his professional competence in his leadership of the Unit. He also assured citizens that the IRT will remain focused on the discharge of its duties in line with national statutes and international best practices.”
