The last ten days of Ramadan has been described as a one-time opportunity the rewards of which are immeasurable with Allah.
This was the thrust of the Friday sermon, Khutbah, delivered by Sheikh Shakirudeen Adeyeye, the chief Imam of Ore Oluwa Central Mosque, Irepodun area, Oyo, today.
In his lecture which centered on Benefit of the last ten days of Ramadan including the Night of Majesty equated to a thousand months, Imam Adeyeye urged all fasting Muslims all the world over to abstain from sins in its entirety and resolve to be true servants of Allah through unconditional and complete servitude to Him alone.
” As we all know, the month of Ramadan is not only about abstinence from eating, drinking and sexual intercourse, it entails eschewing all forms of sins and solemn resolve not to waiver even after the blessed month. Muslims must take advantage of the special night, The Night of Majesty, whose acts of worships are better than that done for eighty-three years”.
He however admonished the well-to-do to set out on Umrah, lesser hajj, during these last ten days and urged those who can not afford the pilgrimage to embark on i’tikaf, seclusion in the mosque to be able to witness the Night of Decree, Laylatul Qadr.
