The ground is set for the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Muslim Graduates’ Association (LAUMGA) to hold her annual convention and general meeting.
This year’s edition will take place between Friday, June 10, and Sunday, June 12, 2022, with lots of mind-blowing events readily prepared with the theme; “Revamping our Social-cultural Strength for National Restructuring”.
Acting Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Professor M.O. Liasu alongside LAUMGA National President, Dr Abass O. Alade will host other important personalities from all walks of life set to liven this year’s twins events for the three days.
Oba Kazeem Adio Adegboye, the Onisaambo of Ogboro Land and an alumnus of the 11th best university in Nigeria in 2021 judging by AD Scientific Index ranking, LAUTECH is the spiritual father of the day while the Chief Press Secretary to the Osun State Governor, Alhaji Ismail Omipidan and Sheikh Taliat Yunus Ayilara ||, the Chief Imam of Ogbomosoland are special guests expected at this gathering of wit and impact.
Sheikhs Muslim Oladiran and Abdulhakeem Raaji, the chief imams of Iree and Sepeteri lands are also spiritual fathers as Professor Musbaudeen Abdulhameed, Dr Kazeem K. Salam, and Mr Saheed Rahman take charge of the organisation, mobilisation, and procession for the three-day event.
The event will unfurl with Juma’at Service at the LAUTECH Central mosque on Friday, June 10 after which humanitarian visits to the motherless home, the hospital, and the prison yard (National Correctional Centre) will follow successively.
The scintillating Saturday will open with free medical check-ups at the venue that began the monumental convention, LAUTECH Central Mosque between 8:00am and 12:00 noon.
The Annual General Meeting will hold from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at CSE, High Rise Building, LAUTECH Ogbomoso. Professor B.A. Akinwande, the Director of Academic Planning of the institution between 11 pm and1:30 pm will take the rapturous crowd on the topic, “Our Family, Our Profession: Conflict and Conciliation.
The occasion will be rounded off on the third and final day with a lecture on the topic, Repositioning Education and Family Values Towards National Peace, Stability and Growth” to be delivered by Professor Hafeez Oladosu of the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies, University of Ibadan followed by Dr Dahud Saheed Olaide centering around nutrition for a healthy family.
The consultant and public health physician at Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex (OAUTHC), osun state will pin the focus of the congregation on the topic between 9:00 am and 2:00pm as the audience pack themselves with sound mind to know more about their health at MKO, LAUTECH Teaching Hospital.
