Following the molestation of Hajia Shukurat Ayanbisi Jamiu, the Hijab-wearing student of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, on Wednesday 17th November, 2021, series of meetings have been held in a sense to resolve the issue amicably without undermining the rights of Muslims, male and female, in LAUTECH.
On Monday 22nd November, 2021, the Muslim Community of Oyo State through its Intervention Panel, invited Surveyor Prince Badmus Yinusa, the husband of Sister Shukurat Ayanbisi Jamiu, who was molested, and Professor Ajibade Bayo Lawal to a meeting.
News Live Nigeria can report that at the meeting, which had the Professor’s team, the team of Surveyor Prince Badmus Yinusa, the sister’s husband and the leadership of the Muslim Community of Oyo State, Prof. Ajibade, having been reprimanded for disparaging Islam, TENDERED PROFUSE APOLOGY to the sister and the entire Muslim Ummah.
Meanwhile, the sister’s husband, Surveyor Yinusa, who had earlier resolved that his wife, sister Shukurat would withdraw from the Nursing programme, was convinced to rescind the decision to which he acceded.
Surveyor Yinusa accepted the Prof’s apology and equally appealed to the Muslim Ummah to, in the spirit of brotherhood, peace, forgiveness and love, do the same. The husband also agreed to withdraw the petition earlier written by the lawyers of Sister Shukurat Ayanbisi Jamiu.
The team equally warned all establishments and institutions to put a permanent stop to all anti-Islam and anti-Muslim policies and actions, in the interest of peace in Oyo State.
