Team Triumph from the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) has clinched a $1,000 prize at the grand finale of the Deep Funding National AI-Based Project Competition Hackathon 2025.

The event was held at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, from December 7 to 9, 2025. The team had earlier emerged champions at the South West zonal stage of the competition in Ilesa.

The team developed an IoT- and AI-powered Automated Medication Dispenser aimed at helping the elderly and people living with disabilities adhere to their prescribed medication schedules.

Team Triumph consists of Amoo Taiwo (Mechanical Engineering), Bello Abdullahi (Electronic and Electrical Engineering), Emmanuel Lafenwa (Mechanical Engineering), and Azeez Fatiha (Computer Science). They were guided by Prof. Tesleem Asafa, Director of Emerging Skills and Technologies (CEST) at LAUTECH.

This remarkable achievement reaffirms LAUTECH’s reputation for innovation, excellence, and impactful technological advancement.
