Nigeria and the tale of SSS4

By Maryam AbdulAleem

Being idle usually invites evil thoughts
Different ideas keep coming up.
But think about it,
What is the most likely idea that might be coming up?
Is it good or dangerous one?
Yes, it is the dangerous one.

There are sets of young people
Now wandering and loitering around doing nothing
Becoming a brainless youth going with empty box
Only few among them are making judicious use of this time
While others are just wasting time

Senior School 3 students are now senior school 4 students
Their examination, NECO was suspended
Students studying before are now slacking
While the irresponsible ones have forgotten they even need to read

Hmmm, let’s give this a deep thought
What are the effects of these on the society?
Even the students, they can’t move on nor go back.
Because their class is already filled with another SS3 Students.

Those idle students might later lose interest in education.
Joining bad gangs now become rampant
Looking for money anyway anyhow
Becoming yahoo boys, drug abusers, black hat hackers.
Our society is now exposed to danger
They influence their juniors and this keeps trending

The governments are taking no step to proffer solution
Sleeping not knowing things are going wrong
Dear leaders, wake up from your sleep
Remember youths are the agents of reformation and deformation.
Once they are astray, the county peace and well-being is also at stake.

Oh students of SS4!
Beware of wasting your precious time
Make wise decisions and do it now
Procrastination kills and it is the fastest route to failure
Time waits not for you
A word is enough for the wise!
