Where do things go wrong?

By Abdulrouf Wasiu

Gone are those wisest days
in darkest approaches;
days of finely-loosed garments
sewn with ugly ribbons,
days people claimed those fathers
placed their eyes under their feet;

when braveness feigns in wisdom
but sighs in ignorance,
when words are logically cloned;
scribbled with brevity &
bravely curated with pebbles of lines
hooves into pages of immortality,

days our evergreen heroes and heroines
print their names on their tombs,
with their sweats, bloods and
spirits of undying struggles,

Compelling with these days that
eyes were covered with illusion of fame,
that children of new age
have become prey
thudding the unfit crown,
in colossus of gleaning and
glittering but useless appraisals,

That ignorance has put on
mask of modernity
to fake the world of mankind,
and injects madness in us
that puts us in the scene of dramatic mess,

I can’t figure out
where the world failed to miss the way,
sitting helplessly and
watching the world going abruptly &

turning to comical world and giving this generation fabrics of idiocy,
and designed it in a coolest
of eye glittering cynosure.

“Where exactly do things go wrong?”
