Meanwhile, in his lecture titled Role of Muslim Home in Solving Social Vices in the Society, the chief Imaam, Oluyole Extension Central Mosque, Alhaji Mudathir Atanda Bada urged parents to see parenting as a purposeful and intentional assignment in order to raise God-fearing individuals.
Imaam Bada emphasised that, it is high time mothers devised a workable means of setting their children on the path of righteousness, devoid of rancour, enmity, backbiting, mudslinging and arrogance.
“A Muslim home is the one that places Allah, the Creator at the center of gravity. Here, spirituality is the bedrock, morality is held in high esteem and premium placed on purposeful and intentional training.
While condemning the get rich quick syndrome prevalent amongst teenagers today, Alhaji Bada heaped the blame on the parents whose purpose in life is just prosperity.
“This family gives importance to camouflage – exotic dressing, flamboyant rides and frivolities, as against hardwork, perseverance and contentment.
Again, this type of family is never a role model. They constitute nuisance in the society.
However, to have a society where everybody will go to sleep and fear no intrusion, and businesses will thrive without ill-feelings from partners, there must be concerted efforts at nurturing children on the way of piety.
This is the only means to make this life a haven for all and sundry”, he concluded.
Earlier in her keynote address, the fortunate SPM, Alhaja Magaji Funmilayo Adama applauded the staff of NIPOST, Oyo state from the two religious divides for their mutual coexistence, stressing that this gladdened her most.
“What gladdens my heart most is the reign of religious harmony and ‘one-family’ blood that runs in our veins.
Oyo state is spectacularly unique considering my over 20 years sojourn in NIPOST, Abuja. I must thank you all for this. And I urge you to sustain the tempo.”
