Muslims in the four local government areas in Oyo under the aegis of Oyo Muslim Community, OMC, are set to raise 2.5 billion naira for the construction of state of the art Islamic centre, hospital, standard library and Nursing school.
The high level fund raising will be held on Saturday 28th August, 2022 on the permanent site, Agbogangan, Oba Adeyemi High School road, Mabolaje, Oyo under the chairmanship of Prince Sulaimon Ajibola Afonja, former chairman, First Bank Plc.
News Live Nigeria can report that the over 13 acres of land, which was donated by Alhaji Miftahudeen Shuaib Ishola Agboluaje, Chairman and Founder, Ishola Motors and Sons Ltd and Ishola Petroleum Ltd of blessed memory, will have about seven facilities including a modern library, Muslim hospital and standard event hall.
According to the project committee chairman, Alhaji Daud Igiogun, the 2.5 billion naira fund, when realised would be channeled into seven different facilities, namely: nursing school, hospital, event hall for all activities, vocational training center, standard library and state of the art Islamic centre.
Shaykh (Dr) Mas’ud AbdulGaniy Ajokidero III and Alhaji Yaqub Mainasara are spiritual fathers of the day.
His excellency, governor Seyi Makinde is the Chief Host/Chief Launcher, while Shaykh Muhyideen Ajani Bello, Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta, Alhaji Daud Makanjuola Akinola, and Senator Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja, former governor of Oyo state are guest lecturer, co-launcher and Father of the day, respectively.
Alhaji Igiogun whose tenure as the project committee chairman expires in the next six months was auspicious that given his transparency, selfless service, and prayers, the amount will be realised and used judiciously.
He said, “our hospital when completed, will look after all kinds of people – rich and poor, because Muslims are honour-bound to provide treatment for the sick, whoever they may be.
“Healthcare is a part of life we all consider to be something we are entitled to; it is our right to have access to healthcare whenever we need it. However, those living in poverty do not have access to healthcare – even the most basic medical supplies are out of reach for many vulnerable people.
Given the factors that kept us going; transparency, selflessness and sincere prayers, our target will be met. There are philanthropists across Nigeria who believe in this cause, and are resolute to touch lives positively”, he concluded.
Distinguished personalities expected at the event include Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, 2023 APC Presidential Candidate, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Hon Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, Interior Minister, and Engineer Rauf Olaniyan, former deputy governor of Oyo state among others.
Alhaja Senator Monsurat Sunmonu, Alhaja Modinat Abosede Adedibu and Alhaja Modinat Ajisafe are mothers of the day.
