Skipping a whole term is detrimental to the overall performance of students at all levels in the state.
This was the position of Alhaji Shahid Adewale Adejare, the proprietor of Al-Ameen Group of Schools, Agbogangan, Oyo at the 24th end-of-the-session Programme of the school held at the school premises on Sunday.
Alhaji Adejare said the skipped third term by the Oyo State Government as a result of COVID_19 has a devastating effect on the education sector owing to the fact that experts arranged and organized formal learning process to run step by step.

He said, ” this is because education is a systematic set of instructions arranged and organized by the experts over years for pupils/students to learn from one step to another. Therefore, skipping a term will definitely create a vacuum which, if frantic efforts are not put in place, will adversely affect the students”.
The proprietor however assured the parents of Al-Ameen of the resolve to integrate the missed third term into the first term of 2020/2021 session in other to close the vacuum that might have been created by the COVID-19 pandemic.
” The school will like to assure our dear parents that our dear school will leave no stone unturned by accommodating the skipped third term’s work in our subsequent lessons in the coming term”.

He also pointed out appreciatively that the terminal exams (Common Entrance and JSS 3 BECE) went as hitch_free as planned, adding that the staff organized several preparatory examinations for the candidates which made them stand tall against all odds during the course of writing the exams.

Advising the parents and guardians whom he termed as the first teacher of the child, the educator said, ” I will like to implore you to work together with the school management to raise good, positive and productive individuals in our society “.
He also urged them to do their best to talk their wards out of negative utterances, lackadaisical attitudes, and those behaviors that will make them disrespect their teachers and flout school’s laid down rules and regulations that will have a direct negative impact on our society.

“The high level of immorality of our youth is nothing but a cankerworm which has eaten deep into the fabrics of our society”, he categorically stated.
Mr. Saheed Adejare, however, seized the opportunity to admonish the graduands to shun hooliganism, thuggery, indecent dressing, lack of respect, nonchalant attitudes to studies, and other vices because they are impediments to their educational advancement.
