PATHETIC! Arsenal packed like sardines at Goodison park

The fortune of the North London club showed no positive wave of a renaissance as they bowed down to Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday losing 2—1.

Though Arsenal was not helped at Goodison Park by the absence of captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang due to injury, fans who spoke with News Live Nigeria correspondent after the game countered that it was not enough for the team not to muster at least a shot on target for the majority of the first half.

It is regrettably underwhelming that the last time Arsenal picked up maximum points in the league was on November 1 when they won with a solitary penalty at Manchester United.

Robb Holding’s own goal in the 22nd minute, Nicolas Pepe’s penalty on minute 35 levelling the score before a well-struck Yeri Mina’s header 10 minutes later brought Arsenal’s seventh defeat in 10 games.

The road is still rough for Mikel Arteta and his toothless troops, they host Manchester City in the Carabao Cup quarter-final on Tuesday night before inviting Chelsea to the Emirates Stadium on Boxing Day. It remains to be seen if the team would record any success therein.

In other results in the English Premier League of matchday 14, Liverpool walloped Crystal Palace at home with seven unreplied goals, Raheem Sterling scored the only goal for Man City as they triumphed at Southampton, while Newcastle and Fulham shared the spoils at St. James’ Park.
