Tanker accident claims one life along Oyo-Ibadan express way

A fuel-laden tanker has claimed the life of its ‘motor boy’ along Oyo-Ibadan express way in an accident that occurred at around 2am on Thursday.

The driver sustained injuries. A source told News Live Nigeria that the driver, despite bids to escape unscathed, had his right hand broken.

The petrol tanker, according to a reliable source, was heading towards the North before it lost control and self-somersaulted.

Meanwhile, apart from the spilling of the content, which had caused diversion from Mobil-Baynikol-Junction-Irepo market area of Oyo west local government, Federal Fire Service men were on ground to prevent occurrence of fire, for the 45,000 litre content leaks slowly.

The cause of the accident can’t be ascertained, though there are pot holes at the portion where the unfortunate incident occurred.

As at the time our correspondent got to the scene of the accident, the driver had been taken away for treatment.
