Warehouse to go for #5,000 per month at Akesan market

It has been concluded that anyone who wants to own a Warehouse at the Akesan new ultra-modern market will have to carve out 5,000 naira every month.

This was revealed in a statement by Honourable Saheed Adeyemi Arowosaye, the chairman of Oyo East Local Government where the ancient market is situated.

According to the chairman, timbre and caliber of the LGA met with executives of the Akesan market association after which they proceeded to a general meeting with all the members at Town hall yesterday and finalised critical issues.

Honourable Arowosaye revealed that his administration has not deviated from its core, placing people at the heart of any development, as stakeholders deformed the fears of the traders by listening them n their concerns.

He added that their fruitful deliberations brought about a collective decision that the rents for the shops to be at pocket-friendly prices for interested traders.

“The new ultra-modern market rents will be as follows;

1. Lock up shops/per month; 1,000.00 Naira Only.
2. Open stalls/ per month; 500.00 Naira Only.
3. Warehouse/per month; 5,000.00 Naira Only
4. Cold Room/Per month; 10,000.00 Naira Only,” the statement read.

Honourable Arowosaye however said that allocation letters would be out as from Monday, 21st June 2021.

The allottees were also requested to commence their payments as soon as they receive their letters.

“We are sympathetic to the plight of the traders and our administration will continue to do everything within our powers to support them. Once again, we thank our leader and Governor, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde for his unending support for the traders,” the statement added.
