A renowned Professor of Middle Eastern, North African and Cultural Studies, and former Dean of the Faculty of Arts, University of Ibadan, Professor Afis Ayinde Oladosu has joined numerous Nigerians who believe in Bola Ahmad Tinubu.
He said he would vote for Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election.
The university don said, many people hold that all candidates are “bad”. “Even at that, I will vote for Tinubu, because he is the “best of the worst”.
The sagacious academic made the disclosure at the 11th annual symposium organised by the B-Zone of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria held at International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan.
Professor Oladosu, speaking on the topic, Redefining Nigeria’s Destiny through Credible Poll, postulated that for a Nigeria of our dream to happen, all hands must be on deck. And more than ever before, a president who is not lily-livered is most desired.
“Obviously to achieve the very essence of our existence, we must confront the challenges and act accordingly. We must act the religion we profess”, he concluded.
The Professor however opined that Nigeria needs a “benevolent dictator” who doesn’t care whose ox is gored; he will be a person who understands where it pinches, and is well abreast of what it takes to move the country to her enviable position.
