Makinde presents staff of office to new Olubadan, Oba Lekan Balogun, News Live Nigeria reports.

Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde Seyi Makinde has presented the staff of office to Sen. Mohood Lekan Balogun as the new Olubadan of Ibadanland.

Governor Makinde presented the staff of office to the former Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland at the ancient Mapo Hall, venue of the coronation ceremony today.

Speaking for the first time as the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Mohood Lekan Balogun thanked Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, Governor Makinde, Ooni of Ife and other Dignitaries present at the occasion.

Dignitaries that were part of the Olubadan’s Coronation include Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, the governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Dr Kayode Fayemi, Etsu of Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar rtd GCFR.

The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi; the Deputy Chairman of Oyo State Council of traditional rulers, and the Ààrẹ Ọ̀nà Kakanfò of Yorùbáland, Otunba Gani Adams, are also present.

Others are former Vice President Atiku Abubakar; Ondo State Deputy Governor, Lucky Ayedatiwa and Osun State Deputy Governor, Benedict Alabi.
