Oyo Kingdom will be thrown into frenzy pomps and pageantry on Friday 28, April 2023 as Imaam Daud Igi Ogun becomes the Khadimul Muslimeen of Oyo Kingdom.
Imaam Daud Oladele Tijani Igi Ogun will be turbaned as the Khadimul Muslimeen of the entire Oyo kingdom, the title which is arguably the first in the history of whole Oyo.
Khadimul Muslimeen, according to Imaam means a person whose sense of service to humanity is A-OK; a champion of the Muslim course, who ensures rights of the Muslims are not trampled upon.
In a telephone interview with our correspondent, from Saudi Arabia, the new Khadimul Muslimeen of Oyo land, said the title has been conferred on him by the late chief Imaam of Oyoland, Sheikh Mas’ud AbdulGaniy Ajokidero III before his demise, stating that the turbaning ceremony is only coming at this material time.
“I have been conferred with the coveted title of Khadimul Muslimeen of Oyo land long before this time by our father, Sheikh Mas’ud AbdulGaniy Adebayo Ajokidero III. It’s absolutely a call to do more in the service of Islam and Muslims through ceaseless and unfeigned humanitarian engagements”.
On why he was considered worthy of the phenomenal title, Imaam Igi Ogun alluded to some of his antecedents such as being a person who unconditionally sacrifices himself for the service of the religion; who establishes Arabic institute without collecting a dime from the students for more than two decades, and one who represents pristine Islam in the palace.
He said, “Well, among other things, I just know I build bridges – promote friendly relations between groups, establish free Arabic school for more than 25 years now, facilitate lots of developmental projects to the town such as Agro-Rangers, Immigration Office, etc, and above all, I present myself for any endearvour that will bring about uncommon development to Islam and Muslims in particular, and humanity in general”.
News Live Nigeria also learnt that immediately the turbaning ceremony at the Oyo central mosque, Akesan market is concluded, after Jumah service, guests will be treated to sumptuous reception at the Nature Nurture Group of Schools, Orí Awo, Oyo.
Guests from as far as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, friends and well wishers from all walks of life will be in attendance as the pomps and pageantry roll, in the mood of celebrating an icon of unselfish service to humanity.
