O you who believe, be busied in the service of your Lord and Creator, Allah, and be sure that He will furnish you with your needs.
O you who believe, remember, the Lord of this space and what abounds there Has created all what is in the heavens and the earth for man. The only thing He Has demanded from man since creation has been His worship without associating partner with Him in it , in being God and in His names!
The verses of the glorious Qur’an under here will suffice you on the facts that every other creatures on Earth are created by God for man, oh you the believers if you will ever ponder over them. They are:
“It is He who Has created for you all things that are on earth; then He turned to the heaven and made them into seven firnaments.And in all things, He has perfect knowledge” Qu’ran 2:29.
“I have only created Jinns and men ,that they may serve me. No sustenance do i require of them , nor do i require that they should feed me. For Allah is He who gives all sustenance , Lord of Power , who are steadfast forever!” _ Qu’ran 51:56-57.
O you that are wise, worship Allah with sincerity and true devotion and allow not the sustenance which you are chasing to derail you. Many a people have courted anger from God while many of them have earned His punishment, all in the name of seeking the sustenance.
Seeking sustenance or one’s livelihood should not disturb the worships of the Almighty. A wise believer who knows his onion will always give everything its due. He will be earning his living on one hands and when it is time for the daily canonical prayers, he will still create times for them without forsaking one for other!
It is an unwise one who will prioritize the seeking of his livelihood over the worships of his Creator. But the prudent one will know that as a believer, on whatever state he is, he is but worshipping his Lord, whenever he purifies his intention on those works . This is on his material works not to talk of the celestial ones such as As-Salat and Hajj, which have been made compulsory for him by his Creator, Allah!
Oh you who believe! Know that the characterization and attribute of the true believers by God is that they are a people who do not allow selling and buying or any other thing to divert them from Allah’s remembrance and His worship. We read this in Qu’ran 24_27-28 as follows:
” Men whom neither merchandise nor selling diverts from the remembrance of Allah and the keeping up of prayer and the giving of poor-rate ( Zakat) ; they fear a day in which the hearts and eyes shall turn about; that Allah may give them the best reward of what they had done, and give them more out of His grace ; and Allah gives sustenance to whom He pleases without measure!”
The Gradations Of Social Contact For Muslims
The gradations of social contact for Muslims if they will follow the wise ordinances of their Faith accordingly are that:
Each individual remembers Allah for himself or herself five or more times every day in the home or place of business, or local mosque, or open air , as the case may be.
On Friday in every week there is a local meeting in the central mosque of each local centre, – it may be a village, or town , or ward of a big city. Friday, is primarily the Day of Assembly, the weekly meeting of the Congregation, when we show our unity by sharing in common public worship, preceded by a Khutbah, in which the Imam ( or Leader) reviews the week’s life of the Community and offers advice and exhortation on good living.
At the two ‘Ids every year, there is a large local meeting in one centre where Muslims worship together their Lord and show appreciation to Him for the good He Had done to them for that whole year!
Once at least in a lifetime, where possible, a Muslim shares in the vast international assemblage of the world, in the centre of Islam, at the Makkan pilgrimage.
These gradations of social contact as they concerned Muslims are geared towards the worships of the Almighty as well as for the good of human beings as the Almighty is not a selfish entity, He Has created for His servants bounties out of what He Has commanded them to do!
On Friday for example, when the call for prayer is declared, Muslims are to leave their businesses and hasten instead to prayer but after the completion of the prayer, they are given the allowance to move from one end of the earth to others, and seek Allah’s munificence and gifts as far as they want! This is contained in Qu’ran 62: 9-10 thus :
” O you who believe! When the call is proclaimed to prayer on Friday ( The Day of Assembly) , hasten earnestly to remembrance of Allah, and leave off business. That is best for you if you but knew!”
” And when the Prayer is finished, then may you disperse through the land, and seek of the Bounty of Allah: and remember frequently that you may prosper.
Friends of God, know that the creation of the Earth and the heavens is not for idle sport or play but for the worship of the one who forgives Sin, who is severe in punishment and who is all-bountiful at the same time !. There is even no God but He and to Him is the Final goal!
Beloved of God and Lovers of His apostle, know that Human time and his sustenance are two items that are created together like the siamese twins, they cannot be separated even for a second! It is therefore an illogical step for man to seek sustenance by disregarding Allah’s bounds!
I repeat, it is irrational that man will fully embrace his business or means to his livelihood and totally abandon the worships of the one who Has created him and the livelihood he is crazily seeking, in the first place ! It is a pity that some of us will have all the time for our business, picnic, schooling, and what have you, but we come up with excuses whenever we are probed on our poor attitude to worships of the Almighty, that we are busied a lot and there is no much time for us to pray.
O you the Patient in the worship of ar-Rahman, be conscious of the fact that whenever there remains a time for man to spend on this earth, there is an accompanying Sustenance for him, no matter how big or small it can be.
Oh Friends of Peace! Think on the great works of Allah on the life of human being from the time of his conception in the womb of his mother to when he is born and to the time of his death! Allah is all conversant with the situation of man in the womb of his mother. He is the one that provides sustenance for him in the womb in the form of blood!
And after his birth, Allah provides his foods for him from two bases, which are the breasts of his mother and the animal milk until he becomes matured and independent of the mother’s breasts and milk. Then He, the oft-Provider of Sustenance for every one of His creature, berthed for him another two broad ways in order to eke out the living. These two ways are animal flesh and plants products.
Not only this, He eases man in every way to his sustenance: He furnishes the earth with the numbers of rain that will suffice its plants, He illuminates the heaven with the sun that photosynthesis its land and breezes the air that germinates the crops! Exalted is His names, the Only Lord of the universe..
The Last prophet of God, Muhammad(salawatu-llahi alehi) in hadith -ul-qudushi( a conversation between him and Allah) said that Allah said:
“O you Son of Adam ,be busied with my worship: i will fill your soul with wealth and bar your poverty but if you are not busied with my worship, i will fill your hands with strive upon strive while i will not bar your poverty from you “!
Then why can’t you be busied with the remembrance of your Lord , if ease of this World and that of the hereafter will be your lots! Oh you the wise, abandon the love of other things and embrace the worships of your Lord! . O you the discern, embrace the service of your Lord and enjoy His ease He Has promised you in the tongue of His beloved apostle Muhammad ( Salla-llahu alehi wasalam).
