People of all categories have been admonished to consider the death’s inevitability as a means to spur them into constant righteousness, as no one is in the know of his appointed time.
An Oyo-based Islamic cleric, Imaam Luqman Abdurrafii gave this charge yesterday at the international Muslim cemetery, Alaaka, Oyo.
The cleric, while giving admonition after the completion of all Islamic burial rites for Alhaji Yekeen Adejare Aderibigbe have been concluded said, death is inevitable, and as such every individual should be prepared for the last journey.
“If man is actually convinced that death is inevitable, he should be purposeful in making provisions for his last journey. The journey to eternity calls for staunch resolve to serve the Creator before one’s final breath is taken.
For the dead, he’s faced the reality. But for the living, if the dead have any piece of advice, they would admonish that we should fear Allah, do righteous deeds, and serve Him with all sincerity”, he said.
“Everyone shall taste death. And only on the day of Resurrection shall you be paid your wages in full. And whoever is removed away from the fire and admitted to Paradise he indeed is successful. The life of this world is only the enjoyment of deception (a deceiving thing).” Qur’an, 3:175
According to the cleric, “death is the debt everyone will pay, whether you are rich or poor, the haves and the have nots, one day is one day. We should all rethink our steps and prepare for the inevitable”.
