Ekiti Governor Elect receives Certificate of Return

The Independent NationaI Electoral Commission, INEC says it will continue to improve on the electoral process to strengthen the nation’s democracy.

INEC NationaI Commissioner in charge of Lagos, Ekiti and Oyo States, Mr Sam Olumekun disclosed this in Ado Ekiti while presenting certificates of Return to the Governor-elect, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, Deputy Governor-Elect, Chief Monisade Afuye and the legislator elect for Ekiti East Constituency one of the state House of Assembly, Mr Abraham Fatoba.

Mr Olumekun who noted that the introduction of Bimodal Voter Accreditation System BVAS machines had reduced Electoral Fraud, said that this had also added credibility to the work of the commission.

He told the Governor-elect to justify his Election by fulfilling his campaign promises to better the people of Ekiti State.

In his remarks, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Adeniran Tella while congratulating the Governor-Elect on his victory, also appreciated the people of Ekiti State for their cooperation which led to the success of the exercise.

Responding, the Governor-Elect, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, flanked by his wife, Dr Oluyemi, thanked the people of Ekiti for giving him the mandate, with a promise that his six points agenda which includes Job creation for youth, Human Capital Development, infrastructure and industrialization, Agriculture and Rural Development, Art, Culture and Tourism as well as Good Governance would be fully implemented to fast-track the growth of the state.

Wife of the Governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly, Mr Funminiyi Afuye, political office holders, APC leaders, Party members, and top Government functionaries graced the event, radionigeria reported.
