It is no news that the recent spike in the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic has pursued the government of the country to take urgent and austerity measures to curtail a disastrous second wave of the virus.

Amidst the resurgence of the pandemic, the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria B-Zone earlier in the week declared their position on holding the December Islamic Vacation Course (IVC) for members of the Muslim community in the zone.

Interestingly, as part of the respect for the COVID-19 restriction laws as reeled out by the government, the zonal executive members summoned an emergency meeting to look into how the event would be carried out amidst the restriction laws imposed by the government.

Given this, the following decisions are the outcome of the ZEC meeting dated; 20th December 2020:

1. The 1442 IVC shall hold physically as scheduled at the IVC permanent site with full observance of Covid 19 protocols

2. All ZEC members are expected to be in attendance along with *interested delegates

3. There shall be provisions for delegates to join virtually with payment of 50% of the Reg fee for the category concerned. All classes and programmes shall be streamed live for those registered.

4. There shall be provision for non-resident delegates who may wish to be coming from home daily. They must be fully registered and observe all Covid 19 protocols at all times.

5. We hereby reiterate that kiddies, JSS students, those with hypertensio,n and other underlining health conditions are exempted and should not come to the venue at all.

Conclusively, the Chairman of the IVC organiser, AbdulHakeem Kolawole reiterated the imperatives of abiding by the previously mentioned directives of the ZEC executives.

In the spirit of brotherhood as ordained by the Noble Prophet (Peace be upon him), the chairman gave the assurance of carrying out religious activities that will add positive values to the lives of the Muslims and the society at large.
