The Oyo State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Barr Rahman Abdulraheem has lauded The Muslim Congress (TMC), Oyo State on the civilized ways by which it conducts its activities within state.
The Commissioner made the assertion during a courtesy visit to his office by the state officers of TMC on Wednesday 17th August, 2022.
The State Coordinator (Waali) of TMC, Alhaji Engr Daud Oladosu, represented by the Public Relation Officer, Mallam Dhikrullah Salahudeen, asserted readiness of TMC to collaborate with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology on the development of education in the State.
During the discussion with the commissioner, the State Coordinator noted that The Muslim Congress is committed to educational development programmes through the establishment of primary and secondary schools to reduce the rate of out-of-school children in Oyo State and organizing educational programmes such as Spelling Bee, Educational Career Counseling, Quiz and Debating Competitions as well as Quran Memorization Competition.
“We equally embark on welfare packages for the vulnerable and indigent people without leaving prisoners unattended to through our Zakat and Sadaqat Foundation”, Engr. Oladosu disclosed.
The Muslim Congress, therefore, used the avenue to commend the State Government on clearing the air regarding the rumoured return of schools to the missionaries in the State.
The Honourable Commissioner was who in attendance with the Permanent Secretary and other officials of the Ministry of Education decried the reactions of some groups that failed to verify information on the returning of schools to the missionaries being rumoured within state before writing on it.
“I wondered on how some faith-based organisations reacted to the rumour without coming to me for verification before reacting”, he said.
The Commissioner enjoined the executives of The Muslim Congress never to relent on their collaborative efforts and style of preaching pristine Islam to the masses of the State.
Among the members of the TMC visitation team to the commissioner were the Assistant Secretary, Malllam Abdulfatah Fijabi; the Administrative Officer, Mallam Abdurahman Ishola; the Legal Adviser, Barr Idris Openiyi and the Project Officer, Alh Sulaiman Ilori.
