PDP leadership crisis: Secondus can’t lead us to victory in 2023, Okoye

The PDP National Youth Leader, Honourable Udeh Okoye has said that, the PDP National Chairman, Uche Secondus cannot lead the party to Victory in 2023.

Okoye stated this while answering questions on a Popular Channels TV programme, “Politics Today” monitored by our correspondent on Tuesday evening. He noted that, the national chairman of the country’s main opposition party, is not a good manager for allowing 7 deputy executive members of the party to leave the party within a day.

“I don’t think Secondus can lead our party to Victory in 2023. Things are really getting bad in our party. Our Party’s National Chairman hasn’t been getting it right. Infact I don’t see our national chairman as a good manager because if you are managing well, 7 deputy executive members won’t leave your party within a day.

Udeh emphasized that, the embattled PDP National Chairman hasn’t been engaging the aggrieved members of the party, rather he has been concerned about his self interest while the party bears the brunt of his bad leadership.

“My grievance is that, our national chairman is not managing the party in a way we can win elections in 2023. He is not engaging Nigerians”, he added.

The main opposition party, PDP has been thrown into crisis when three PDP governors decamped to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) earlier in the year.

Meanwhile, seven deputy executive members of the party have resigned from PDP National Executive Committee. The aggrieved members include; The Party Deputy Publicity Secretary, Deran Odeyemi, Deputy National Organizing Secretary, Hassan Yakubu and Deputy National Women Leader, Hadiza Umaru amongst others. They cited unfair treatment, sidelining and marginalization as reasons for their resignations.
