The application process for scholarships offered to foreign students by Turkey’s Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) will continue until Feb. 20.
The Turkiye Scholarships program, also known as Turkiye Burslari, offers a range of programs designed for undergraduate, graduate, research and language education opportunities in the most prestigious universities in Turkey for international students and researchers.
In a statement, YTB chairman Abdullah Eren said his organization is expecting a huge demand for the scholarship program, whose application process started on Jan. 10 and will continue till Feb. 20.
Eren noted the Turkiye Scholarships program received 42,000 applications in 2012 and the figure reached 145,700 in 2019. He said the scholarship program managed to receive 156,000 applications from 172 countries in 2020 despite pandemic.
Prospective students can obtain further information on the official website (www.turkiyeburslari.gov.tr) or social media accounts of YTB and Turkiye Scholarships, he said, adding program was available for undergraduate, graduate and PhD. candidates.
The Turkish official further noted that Turkiye Scholarships was the world’s most comprehensive scholarship program compared to others as it offered a monthly stipend, health insurance, dormitory, vocational and academic programs along with round-trip tickets.
Turkiye Scholarships maintains close ties with international students following their graduation as they become volunteer ambassadors of Turkey and contribute to relations between the country and their home nations.
