APC chieftains, Religious Leaders throw their weight behind Oluwo, Say King-Makers should be Circumspect

APC chieftains and religious leaders in Iwoland led by the Asiwaju of Iwo, Barrister Gbadegesin Adedeji and Baba Isokan Musulumi, Sheikh Abdulrosheed Fasasi on Thursday paid solidarity visit to the Oluwo, Oba AbdurRasheed Akanbi and called for peace within Iwo Traditional Council.

The elders which included Asiwaju Musulumi of Iwoland, Alhaji Liad Tella, Baba Akinola Baaqi, Waziri of Yorubaland, Sheikh Yaqub Abdulbaaqi, Amir Taa’wun, Daood Imran Molaasan, APC Party Secretary, Razaq Salinsile, Alhaji Alani Gafari, Prof. Lai Olurode, Alhaji Debo Badru and all local government chairmen in Iwo converged on Oluwo’s palace to identify with the King.

Oluwo of Iwo, Oba AbdurRasheed while expressing his heartfelt gratitude for the visit called for unadulterated support and love for the general well-being of all indigenes and residents of Iwoland.

In a statement released by the Chief Press Secretary to the king, Alli Ibrahim, Oba Akanbi appealed to all and sundry to accord community interest the desired preference over and above personal proclivity.

Oba AbdurRasheed however appreciated the show of love expressed by both APC party stalwarts and religious leaders, assuring them that with sincere collaboration, Iwo would be taken to an enviable height, soon.

He pledged his unalloyed commitment to progressive traditional governance.

News Live Nigeria had earlier reported that some sponsored kingmakers, in collaboration with some chiefs signed a petition secretly aimed at unseating the king but failed as the governor of Osun refused to append his signature on the petition.
