Edo’s Number 2 debunks disloyalty to Obaseki

By Yusuf Adua

The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shuaibu has quashed the rumor centering on his purported disloyalty to the state Governor, Godwin Obaseki.

Shuaibu spoke while refuting reports of a rift with Obaseki and plot to dump the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

It surfaced recently in the media that the deputy governor had concluded plans to defect from PDP to a yet-to-be known party.

Refuting the claims, the second in command said the claims that he had after series of consultative meetings decided to dump the party is false.

Appearing on Channels Television, Shuaibu said he was happy with his governor and did not have any sort of snag with him.

“The issue of not being happy with my governor is not there. I remain absolutely loyal to my governor”, he explained.

Mr. Shuaibu however consented to the reports suggesting that there were some issues within the PDP in Edo State noting that“there are issues we need to resolve over PDP.”
