MUST-READ: UNILAG student gives reason for stabbing Super TV CEO to death

By Yusuf Adua

Chidinma Adaora Ojukwu, a 300 level student of the University of Lagos, UNILAG has blamed her stabbing of the Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of Super TV, Usifo Ataga to death on the CEO’s intention to forcefully have sex with her the second time.

Chidinma Ojukwu (21) was paraded by the Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu today, Thursday at the Police Command in connection with the murder of Mr. Ataga.

Ataga kissed the dust when stabbed to death on June 15, 2021, at an apartment in the Lekki area of Lagos State.

Giving her side of the story, Chidinma said Ataga and she were in the lodge smoking and that he was trying to make advances on her as she was tired, so, he became violent about it, but she allowed him to get his wish the first time.

She further explained that towards afternoon, he ordered roofies and that they both took them and ate food, which made him get out of sorts again.

“I was still not happy with the first one that we had, so, I was staying on my own, smoking and drinking. He, too, was on his own”, she narrated.

Chidinma said Mr. Ataga came back to her and she made her dissatisfaction known:

“You don’t help me, you don’t assist me with anything, you are just playing with me around”, she said she complained to him who asked her to take his ATM card and withdrew whatever amount she desired.

She disclosed that Ataga later became violent trying to get to her while she resisted and defended herself.

She added that the disengagement took another wave when Mr. Ataga hit her head on the wall and she retaliated justifying her action that the CEO resulted in chasing her around the kitchen cabinet.

“I took a knife and stabbed his neck. I approached the door and he followed me. I stabbed him twice on the neck side. I threw the knife to the bed and he was going for it but I also went for it. He dragged the knife with me and it broke and he fell on the floor,” Chidinma desperately explained.

It remains to be seen what her case will turn out to become but the Lagos state police command has the matter under control, our Lagos correspondents are also following up on the matter and we will continue to keep you posted as the story unfolds.
