Oluwo Charges Muslims in Nigeria to Join Active Politics

Oluwo of Iwo, Emperor Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi,Telu 1, has called on Muslims in the country to not play political apathy for the collective good of all and sundry.

Oba AbdulRasheed charged Yoruba Muslims and Islamic scholars to join active politics and run for political offices.

He made this known on Tuesday at the ongoing Taawun national conference in Iwo, Osun State.

Oluwo, accompanied by Sheriki Musulumi of Iwoland, Alhaji Moshood Okunola, asked if living in abject poverty was part of Islam or the nature of Muslims.

He further inquired to know if having Islamic cleric in a position of authority is a taboo.

He finally charged Muslims to fight ignorance with education, and encouraged them to work towards Islamic development in Yorubaland.
