The TNM Media Academy, situated at opposite Radio Nigeria Dugbe, Ibadan, played host to a joyous and dignitary-filled event as they organized a Thanksgiving Ceremony for Dr. Kamoru Aremu Salahudeen, who recently completed his PhD programme at the prestigious University of Ibadan, Oyo State.
Dr. Kamoru is not only a respected lecturer at the Mass Communication Department of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, but also holds the position of Deputy Provost at TNM Media Academy.
Distinguished guests from various parts of Nigeria gathered to celebrate this significant academic milestone. The ceremony featured a lecture by Chief Imam Sirajudeen Femi Bakrin of Fountain University, Osogbo, Osun State. Imam Bakrin emphasized the virtues of endurance and persistence in the pursuit of success. He commended Dr. Kamoru for his innovative contributions to education, particularly during his tenure at Fountain University, Osogbo.
Adding to the accolades, Professor Ajagbe from the Engineering Department at the University of Ibadan praised Dr. Kamoru for his accomplishments. Professor Ajagbe encouraged him to continue imparting knowledge and expertise in the field of Communication.
Dr. Kamoru Aremu Salahudeen’s doctoral research focused on Strategic Communication, specifically the application of communication strategies to disseminate sexual reproductive health messages to teenagers and adolescents in secondary schools in Ibadan. His educational journey began in 1981 at Ansarudeen Primary School, Yewa North, Ayetoro, Ogun State, and culminated in his recent PhD completion at the University of Ibadan.
In an exclusive interview, Dr. Kamoru advised aspiring PhD candidates to be focused, determined, hardworking, and diligent. He emphasized the need for meaningful means of financing the programme before commencing.
Mr. Abdul Ganiy Abdur Razaq, the Provost of TNM Media Academy, described Dr. Kamoru as a goal-getter individual with unwavering focus. He commended his God-conscious attitude, critical thinking skills, and reliability, highlighting Dr. Kamoru’s role as a mentor to numerous communication students.
One of his mentees, Mr. Abass Muhali spoke of Dr. Kamoru as a strategic advisor who consistently provides solutions to challenges. He praised Dr. Kamoru for helping individuals discover their talents and emphasized his approachability.
The event was attended by notable figures, including Alh. Engr. Daud Oladosu, the HOD of Computer Science at The Polytechnic Ibadan, and Imam Abdul Hafeez Ariremako, the Proprietor of Al-Qurah Basic School, Ologuneru.
TNM Media Academy’s Provost, Mr. Abdul Ganiy Abdur Razaq, expressed gratitude to The Muslim Congress (TMC) Oyo State for their role in shaping individuals like Dr. Kamoru. He encouraged those interested in communication to engage with experts at TNM Media Academy for guidance and talent development.
The ceremony concluded with a sense of pride for the academic achievements of Dr. Kamoru Aremu Salahudeen and inspiration for those aspiring to follow in his footsteps.
