Why Kwara govt sacked social waste contractors

By Ridwan AREMU

Kwara State Government has announced termination of engagement of all social waste contractors within the state, with immediate effect.

In a statement by the Honourable Commissioner of Environment, Mrs Remilekun Oluwatobi Banigbe on Thursday in Ilorin, stated that the termination of engagement was due to inability of the social waste contractors to meet the relevant service level agreements, while maintaining that, the well-being of people of Kwara state remains paramount to governor Abdulrasaq AbdulRahman.

“The Kwara State Government hereby announces the termination of the engagement of the State Social Waste Contractors, due to the inability to meet the relevant Service Level Agreements.”

“The wellbeing of the good people of Kwara remains paramount to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, hence we will be leaving no stone unturned to ensure a more hygienic environment for all and sundry.”

The statement, however, calls for submission of interest form for social waste contractors from the general public.

“On this note, the Ministry of Environment hereby invites submission of interest from the general public for the vacancies created.
