Iskilu Wakili: Court releases OPC members

Three members of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) who were detained for their alleged role in the arrest of suspected Fulani warlord Iskilu Wakili has been released.

The trio who were arrested, charged to court and subsequent detained were released on Tuesday by an Iyaganku Magistrate Court.

The are Dauda Kazeem, Awodele Adedigba and Ramon Hassan.

Their release was based on the advice of the Department of Public Prosecution (DPP).
The court had ruled that the suspects should not be charged for any offense because there is no evidence to charge against them.

Comrade Rotimi Oguntade, the Oyo state coordinator of OPC also known as Oluomo confirmed the release.

They were initially granted bail on health ground but have been released without charges by the court.

The trio who arrived the Agodi Correctional Centre at about 1PM were later led to the office of the Oyo State Coordinator of OPC, Comrade Oluomo.

Recall that the three OPC members were arrested by the police after they had apprehended Iskilu Wakili, a suspected Fulani warlord in the Ibarapa area of the state said to be complicit in the killings, kidnappings and rape incidents in the area.
