Members of TMC Oyo State engage in a three-day programme to promote peace and provide medical assistance to Oyo State residents.

In observance of the United Nations-designated International Day of Peace, members of The Muslim Congress (TMC) in Oyo State, under the able leadership of Alhaji Engineer Daud Oladosu, embarked on a symbolic trek for peace and conducted a series of community outreach activities.

The event, known as “Khuruj fii Sebilillah,” spanned three days, commencing on Friday, September 22, and concluding on Sunday, September 24, 2023.

On Saturday, September 23, 2023, members of TMC Oyo State gathered at Saki Central Mosque, Igbooro, and embarked on a peaceful trek through the scenic routes of Ajegunle and Sango. This remarkable journey aimed to raise awareness about the paramount importance of fostering peace and harmony within the society. The trek lasted for an hour and a half, during which participants passionately promoted the message of peace.

Following the trek, the organization extended its commitment to the welfare of the community by organizing a free medical caravan. At Saki Central Mosque, Igbooro, a team of seven medical doctors and nurses offered their services, conducting medical checkups for the local residents.

Medications were dispensed free of charge to patients in need. Remarkably, over two hundred and fifty residents of Oyo State benefited from this benevolent initiative.

In addition to the trek and medical outreach, The Muslim Congress held two engaging public lectures on Friday evening and Saturday evening at Orita Ogidigbo and Sango, respectively. These lectures aimed to disseminate knowledge about the beauty of Islam and its teachings to a wider audience.

The turnout for both events was impressive, and the local community members in Saki, Oyo State, welcomed the presence of TMC with open arms, expressing their joy and gratitude for the organization’s efforts.

Alhaji Engineer Daud Oladosu, the leader of TMC Oyo State, expressed his satisfaction with the success of the programme, emphasizing the organization’s unwavering commitment to promoting peace, unity, and the welfare of society.

He stated, “Our participation in the International Day of Peace is a testament to our dedication to building a peaceful and harmonious society. We will continue to work tirelessly to make a positive impact on our community.”

The Muslim Congress (TMC) Oyo State’s commemoration of the International Day of Peace stands as a shining example of community engagement and the pursuit of peace, and it serves as an inspiration for others to contribute to a more peaceful and harmonious world.
