The State Governor, Seyi Makinde on Friday, stated that the State Government wants Shooting Stars football club(3SC) of Oyo State, to compete at the world level and play at World Club cup competition.
Makinde, who stated this while on inspection tour at Lekan Salami, Adamasigba sport complex. In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Taiwo Adisa quoted the governor saying ” We want shooting stars football club to go on and play World Club Competition which I know is not beyond us. We want to want to bring development to our city and to our state. That was why we were elected in the first place”. The governor stated.
Meanwhile, the governor had earlier inspected the ongoing project at Akobo-General Gas Fly Over, the 21-kilometre Ajia-Airport New Ife Road with spur to Amoloko in Ibadan.
Governor Makinde expressed satisfaction with the quality of work being done by the contractors, saying that he was excited with the pace of work so far. He added that, the scope of work has be covered while the schedule is being followed.
“Well, I will say so far so good. The scope of work is being covered and we have made quite some progresses. Also, the schedule is being followed.
The governor, however stated that, the new date for former Commissioning of the remodelled Lekan Salami Adamasigba Sport complex is now September 1st 2021 as against a scheduled date in August.
